Fresh 2018

We’re all about New Year's resolutions, new year new me sort of thing, but we want to be practical about it. 2017 was good to us in many ways, even as we continue to grow our little company we're still looking at a fresh start for 2018. 

January is always a great chance to take the time to organize what you'd like to accomplish within the year. It's a time to relax and reflect on what happened last year, and where we want to go for the new year. 

With that in mind, we've come up with a short list of easy ways to make the most out of 2018:

1. Create Goals
These don't have to be life-changing goals, or cover every aspect of your life, but what are some of the most important goals you would like to tackle over the next year? Will it bring you a sense of accomplishment? Break up your goals into smaller ones over the year, and mark them in this adorable calendar. Starting with January, what is your first step? Little accomplishments make reaching your goals easier and more rewarding.

2. Block Out Time

Instead of trying to do everything at once, create lists of tasks that need to get done. Prioritize them based on what you think needs to be accomplished first, or in a way that lets you check off the easier ones first. Blocking out the time required for each task will help give you a clear order and time frame for completing each task. Tea is our best friend when we have a long list of tasks to complete. Stop multitasking and focus on one thing at a time, starting with a good cup of tea!

 3. Mediate 

As much as we love yoga, we can't always make it to yoga class to mediate. You can incorporate meditation by choosing activities that you enjoy doing, things that require little concentration and allow you to just be in the moment, like knitting or even just walking. This will help with over-all self care, and when you're on the go all the time, it's nice to sit back and enjoy hobbies that help decrease stress, regulate your mood, and improve your overall happiness. 

Take the time to reflect on what is currently important to you and what will be important a year from now. If there was something that you wanted to do last year but didn't get around to, ask yourself why it never happened. A bucket list or to-do list can help you make the most of your year, and it's rewarding to see how much you have accomplished!

So pick up your notepad, preferably locally sourced, and put down one goal, block out the time and steps you'll need to take, and then medidate on it with a nice cup of tea.
